NASM OPT Model
Our personal training programs are guided by the NASM Optimal Performance Training (OPT) Model, a structured, evidence-based system designed to improve functional movement, strength, and overall performance. This model is widely recognized in the fitness industry for its progressive, safe, and adaptable approach to training.
The OPT Model includes three primary phases: Stabilization, Strength, and Power. Stabilization training focuses on balance, core control, and muscular endurance. Strength training develops foundational and maximal strength, while Power training enhances speed and explosive movement. Each phase can be scaled and adapted to match an individual’s experience level, goals, and movement needs.
At Fit Monkeys, we primarily emphasize corrective exercise, stabilization, endurance, and strength training, while selectively incorporating hypertrophy work when appropriate. Rather than rigidly following one phase, we thoughtfully blend training principles to create balanced, personalized programs that support long-term progress and injury resilience.
What We Offer
We offer one-on-one sessions tailored to your body.
What Us Unique?
Our personal training style is rooted in functional movement and intelligent strength training, rather than relying heavily on fixed machines found in many commercial gyms. We primarily use free weights, resistance bands, cable machines, and bodyweight exercises to build strength that carries over into everyday life.
We blend core Pilates principles—such as control, precision, breath, and alignment— with our NASM-based training approach to create programs that emphasize movement quality, strength, and mobility. With years of experience training clients of all ages and fitness levels, we are skilled at both progressing and regressing exercises to meet each client where they are.
Our trainers are experienced in working with individuals returning to exercise after joint replacements or surgeries, following completion of physical therapy and medical clearance, as well as those navigating spinal considerations such as scoliosis or stenosis. Programs are adjusted daily based on how clients are feeling, ensuring training remains effective, safe, and supportive throughout their fitness journey.
